Two Payment Methods at Dentalis

Cigna Global standard protocol for individual plans are typically self-claim only. If you hold a standalone Cigna Global card, you pay after treatment and submit your own claim via the Cigna Envoy portal at public.cignaenvoy.com — or directly through your company HR. Reimbursement typically arrives within 7–14 working days.

Understanding Your Plan
What Does Cigna Dental Insurance Cover?
Coverage is structured by treatment class. The plan annual maximum for dental benefits is dependent on your coverage policy, per employee or inclusive of dependants. Benefit levels, waiting periods, and annual visit limits vary by plan. Always verify against your Cigna Global Health Benefits booklet or individual certificate of insurance.
The structure below is an example of a Cigna dental plan. Individual plans may differ. GST may be payable by the patient and is not covered by the benefit.

| Major Restorative | Dentures (acrylic/synthetic, metal and metal/acrylic) · Dental crowns · Inlays · Mouthguard or occlusal splint | Usually 50% Covered | Pre-authorisation may apply for crowns · Subject to annual plan maximum |
| Orthodontic Treatment Where covered by plan |
Invisalign and orthodontic appliances where specifically included in the plan | Sometimes 50% Covered Up to a limited threshold per year |

Subsidy Clarity
Can I Use MediSave and Cigna Together?
No. MediSave and Cigna dental insurance cannot be combined for the same procedure. You choose one pathway per claim. If your Cigna plan covers 80% of a procedure and your co-payment is 20–30%, using Cigna and preserving your MediSave is generally the smarter financial choice — MediSave is your own CPF savings, not a subsidy. Spending it now reduces your account balance permanently. Reserve MediSave for procedures your insurance does not cover, or when your annual Cigna limit is exhausted. For the full MediSave guide, see MediSave for Dental Treatment at Dentalis.
The decision framework below covers the most common scenarios. When uncertain, speak to the Dentalis front desk before your procedure begins.
Use MediSave When…
- ✓Procedure is MediSave-claimable: surgical wisdom tooth removal or dental implants
- ✓MediSave covers a larger portion of the total procedure cost
- ✓Your Cigna annual dental benefit has already been exhausted for the year
2026 MediSave Withdrawal Limits
Wisdom tooth: up to S$1,120/tooth (TOSP 2C) or S$1,390 (complex, TOSP 3A) \+ S$300 surgical consumables
Implants: up to S$1,120/implant (TOSP SB816M) \+ S$830 surgical consumables
Use Cigna When…
- ✓Your co-payment is 20–30% — even then, using Cigna and preserving MediSave is generally the better choice. MediSave is your own CPF savings and retains value for when you genuinely need it
- ✓Procedure is not MediSave-claimable: tooth fillings, dental crowns, root canal treatment, dentures
- ✓Your Cigna plan covers a higher proportion of the procedure cost than MediSave would
- ✓Your MediSave account balance has already been drawn for the year
- ✓Root canal treatment: not MediSave-claimable (except Flexi-MediSave for patients aged 60+)
Not sure which pathway applies to your treatment? The Dentalis front desk will advise before treatment begins — the decision is always yours.
Flexi-MediSave (live from 1 June 2026): Patients aged 60 and above may claim MediSave for root canal treatment (cap S$400 per procedure) and dental crowns (cap S$400 per procedure) under the Flexi-MediSave scheme. This applies in addition to any CHAS subsidy eligibility. However, a single procedure must still be claimed under one scheme only — Flexi-MediSave and Cigna cannot be combined for the same crown or root canal.
Why Cigna Members Choose Dentalis
A Clinic Unlike Any Other in Singapore CBD
A clinic unlike any other in Singapore
3,000sqft across a tri-level heritage shophouse in Tanjong Pagar, Singapore CBD. A rotating art gallery on the first floor. Assouline travel books in the waiting area. Considered music. A calm space that feels nothing like a dental clinic — because it was designed to feel like somewhere you would choose to spend time and settle your nerves.
A neighbourhood worth arriving for
52 Craig Rd sits in one of Singapore’s most considered precincts — steps from acclaimed restaurants, specialty coffee, and wellness studios. Many Cigna patients build their appointment into the afternoon rather than rush back to the office.
5.0 Google Reviews — one location, one standard
Every review. Every visit. Not averaged across branches — one Dentalis, and one standard of care for every patient who walks in.
Not a chain — personalised, unhurried care
Dentalis does not operate at volume. Appointments are available by advance booking only. If your Cigna benefit covers one check-up per six months, that appointment receives full, unhurried attention — not a race to the next patient.
Dr Jonathan Liu — 25+ years, 10,000+ patients
BDS (NUS) · SDC Reg. D21395J · Principal Dentist and Founder. Trained at the National University of Singapore. Over 25 years of clinical practice. Patients describe him as thorough, exacting, and good at chairside — a dentist who does not rush a decision or a procedure.
Claim-ready documentation

Calaject® computer-controlled anaesthesia
For Cigna patients pursuing restorative work — surgery and root canals — Calaject® (Milestone Scientific) delivers anaesthetic at a microprocessor-controlled rate. Slower, more consistent, painless and significantly more comfortable than a conventional syringe.
52 Craig Rd, Tanjong Pagar
5 minutes’ walk from Tanjong Pagar MRT (EW15), Outram Park MRT (EW16/NE3/TE17), and Maxwell MRT (TEL). Parking at Pinnacle @ Duxton (Block 1C) and Craig Place.

Common Questions
Cigna Dental Insurance — FAQs
After your appointment, Dentalis issues an itemised invoice with 9% GST breakdown. Submit this through the Cigna Envoy portal at public.cignaenvoy.com, or via your company HR. If your plan is administered through Alliance Medinet, Dentalis handles direct billing on your behalf — no out-of-pocket payment for covered items. Confirm which pathway applies to you before your appointment by calling 6425 9395.
Direct billing is available for some Cigna members whose plan is administered through Alliance Medinet. However, Alliance Medinet Cigna plans can go either way — some policyholders qualify for cashless direct billing, while others are directed by their plan to pay first and self-claim reimbursement. The pathway depends on your specific Table of Benefits, not on which clinic you attend. Where direct billing applies, approximately 80% of cases in Singapore route through Alliance Medinet. The majority of standalone Cigna cardholders use self-claim through Cigna Envoy — Cigna's standard protocol for individual policies. WhatsApp us your card and we will confirm before your visit.
No. MediSave and Cigna dental insurance cannot be combined for the same procedure. You choose one pathway per claim. MediSave is generally the better option for surgical wisdom tooth removal or dental implants. Cigna is generally the better option for fillings, crowns, dentures, and root canal treatment — which is not MediSave-claimable. If you have used MediSave for one procedure in a session, you may still use Cigna for a separate, distinct procedure at the same appointment.
Standard Cigna dental plans cover preventive treatment (Scale and Polish, X-rays) at 100%, basic restorative treatment including root canal and extractions at 80%, and major restorative treatment including crowns and dentures at 50%. Annual benefit is subjected to your policy limit per insured per year. Dental implants are explicitly excluded under most Cigna plans. Orthodontic treatment is covered at 50% up to a threshold per year only where specifically included in your plan. Coverage terms vary — always verify your entitlements before treatment.
Bring your Cigna card or digital e-card and a photo ID. Dentalis will confirm your billing pathway at the start of your appointment. If you are uncertain whether Alliance Medinet direct billing applies, bring your card — the front desk will verify before treatment begins. An itemised invoice with 9% GST breakdown is issued after every visit as standard.
Orthodontic treatment, including Invisalign, is covered at 50% up to a threshold per year of insurance only where your Cigna plan specifically includes orthodontic benefit. Under most standard plans, this benefit applies to dependant children under 18. Adult orthodontic coverage depends on the specific plan terms. Invisalign is not MediSave or CHAS claimable. Confirm with your insurer or company HR before commencing any orthodontic treatment.
