What is InnoWhite and who makes it?

InnoWhite is a professional in-office dental whitening system developed by Essential Innovation Pte Ltd, a Singapore company established in 2013 through a strategic business alliance with a partner in Germany. The German collaboration shaped the formulation of the whitening gel — which is why the system is described as made in Singapore, formulated in Germany. It is supplied directly to dental clinics.

The Pro HP35 is the in-chair variant — a single-use kit consisting of a dual-barrel syringe containing 35% hydrogen peroxide gel, a gingival barrier (InnoDam), a post-treatment desensitiser (InnoSense), and application tips. It is for dental professional use only. Dentalis has used this system for in-chair whitening since the clinic opened.

What is inside the InnoWhite Pro HP35 system?

The Pro HP35 in-office kit contains four components, each serving a specific clinical function.

InnoDam — Gingival Protector

A light-curing resin applied to the gum tissue before the gel goes on. Applied at 3–4mm coverage on the gingival and 0.5–1mm on the tooth surface, then light-cured to form a complete seal. It prevents the whitening gel from contacting soft tissue throughout all three treatment cycles.

Pro HP35 Dual Barrel Syringe — 35% HP Gel, 2.5ml

Mixed at the tip on dispensing. Potassium Nitrate and Sodium Fluoride are incorporated into the formulation to reduce enamel sensitivity during the active whitening cycles. The photo activator in the gel produces maximum oxidation in the presence of blue light at 460–490nm.

InnoSense Desensitising and Remineralising Gel, 3ml

Applied at the end of the session. Contains Potassium Nitrate, Sodium Fluoride, and nano-Hydroxyapatite (nano-HA) particles. Nano-HA deposits directly into the dentinal tubules — the microscopic channels responsible for transmitting sensitivity signals — physically occluding them and supporting remineralisation of the enamel surface.

Application Tips

Two mixing tips for accurate gel delivery directly to the tooth surface. The dual-barrel syringe ensures the two-component gel is mixed in the correct ratio at the point of application — activation only occurs upon mixing.

The LED Unit

The IW-05-C Gen-3 LED — what makes it different?

The IW-05-C is the third-generation Advanced LED Teeth Whitening Light Unit used with the InnoWhite Pro HP35 system. It uses a German-made LED chipset with a rated lifespan of 25,000 hours — and critically, its six built-in LED bulbs are designed to maintain consistent wavelength output across that entire lifespan. Wavelength consistency matters because the photo activator in the Pro HP35 gel requires light at 460–490nm (blue spectrum) to trigger maximum oxidation of the chromogen compounds in the enamel. A lamp that drifts in output over time produces inconsistent activation.

The unit is lightweight, wheel-based for clinical mobility, and operates via a soft-touch panel with light intensity control — no control card required.

Unlike high-intensity systems such as Philips Zoom WhiteSpeed, the IW-05-C is not designed to generate heat as part of its activation mechanism. High-intensity blue-light systems have been associated in some studies with greater pulpal temperature rise, which may contribute to post-whitening sensitivity alongside chemical penetration and individual susceptibility.1 The IW-05-C is calibrated for effective photo-activation at controlled intensity.

Step by Step

What happens during an InnoWhite session at Dentalis?

Every InnoWhite session at Dentalis follows the clinical protocol specified in the InnoWhite Pro HP35 instruction manual.

Before the session begins

The current tooth shade is recorded using a standardised VITA shade guide — this documents the baseline before any gel is applied. A clinical examination confirms suitability. If your last professional scaling and polishing was done more than a month ago, the dentist may recommend completing one first.

InnoDam application

A lip retractor keeps the lips and cheeks clear. InnoDam gingival protector is applied across the gum tissue, light-cured, then inspected to confirm a complete seal. No pinkish gingival should be visible before the gel goes on.

First gel cycle

The Pro HP35 dual-barrel syringe is attached with a mixing tip. The gel is applied 1–2mm thick across the tooth surfaces. The patient is positioned at approximately 45° — this allows comfortable swallowing throughout. The IW-05-C LED unit activates the gel for 15–20 minutes.

Cycle repeat × 3

At the end of each cycle, the gel is removed by suction — not rinsed — and a fresh layer applied. This is repeated for three cycles. Maximum total treatment time is 60 minutes of active gel application. If any sensitivity is experienced, Dr Jonathan Liu adjusts the cycle time or intervals accordingly.

Final removal and InnoSense

After the third cycle, the gel is removed by suction then rinsed with water. InnoDam is removed. The patient rinses with warm water. Tooth shade is recorded against the pre-treatment baseline. InnoSense is then applied to the teeth and gum area chairside for approximately 10 minutes.

Post-Treatment

InnoSense — what is in the post-treatment gel?

InnoSense is the InnoWhite-branded desensitising and remineralising gel applied at the end of every in-chair session at Dentalis. It contains three active components.

Potassium Nitrate

Reduces dentinal sensitivity by blocking the nerve response pathway in the dentinal tubules — depolarising the nerve endings that transmit the sensitivity signal to the pulp. A well-established desensitising agent with a strong clinical evidence base.2

Sodium Fluoride

Supports enamel remineralisation in the post-treatment window when the enamel surface is more receptive to mineral uptake. Fluoride stabilises the enamel crystal structure and reduces permeability in the hours following whitening.

Nano-Hydroxyapatite (nano-HA)

Physically deposits into the dentinal tubules, occluding the channels that transmit sensitivity signals. Nano-HA is the mineral constituent of natural enamel and dentine — delivered at nanoscale, it provides direct tubule occlusion rather than relying solely on nerve desensitisation.2

Note: InnoSense is applied chairside for 10 minutes at Dentalis and is included in the price of every in-chair whitening session. It is not a take-home product.

After Your Session

Aftercare — the 24-hour window

In the 24 hours following an InnoWhite session, the enamel pellicle is temporarily disrupted. During this period, the tooth surface is more susceptible to re-staining. Avoid coffee, tea, red wine, dark sauces, cola, and tobacco. Stick to water, plain foods, and white or neutral-coloured meals. Rinse with water after anything that may stain.

Beyond 24 hours, maintain results with regular professional cleaning. At Dentalis, Guided Biofilm Therapy every six months removes the biofilm layer that accumulates chromogens over time — extending the interval before a top-up session is needed. Re-whitening is generally appropriate every 12 to 24 months, assessed at consultation.
