Sleep Apnea Treatment
Snoring, disrupted sleep, waking exhausted. A quieter night begins with the structure that supports it. We address the airway, working alongside ENT or sleep specialistswho diagnose.
Restorative Dentistry
The Weight of a Restless Night
There is a particular kind of tiredness that sleep does not seem to fix.
It is not just the yawning through a 2pm meeting, or the second coffee that no longer helps. It is the way a partner mentions the snoring, gently at first, and then more often. It is waking with a dry mouth and a faint headache, and wondering why eight hours felt like four.
For many, the conversation that follows is a quiet one — a sense that something is structurally wrong, long before a diagnosis gives it a name.
Sleep apnea is not resolved by trying harder to sleep. It is a question of the airway itself — how the jaw, tongue, and soft tissue behave once the body is at rest. Working alongside ENT specialists and sleep physicians, we address the structural factors that contribute to airway obstruction.

Understanding the Role of a Dentist
Where Dentistry Fits
Sleep apnea is diagnosed through a sleep study — not at the dental chair. We do not diagnose it. What we do is assess the jaw, the bite, and the airway-adjacent structures that a mandibular advancement device can support.
For patients with mild to moderate obstructive sleep apnoea, or those who find continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) difficult to tolerate, a custom oral appliance — fitted and adjusted by a dentist — is a recognised, evidence-based alternative.
Already diagnosed by an ENT or sleep specialist? You can come directly — no repeat assessments needed.
When to Seek Assessment
Signs It May Be Time
Some signs are noticed by a partner first. Others are felt every morning without a clear reason. Either way, a conversation is worth having.
Loud or frequent snoring
Often the first thing a partner mentions
Waking unrefreshed
Even after a full night's sleep
Daytime fatigue or difficulty concentrating
That persists despite adequate sleep hours
Morning headaches or a dry mouth
A common but overlooked pattern
Witnessed pauses in breathing during sleep
Reported by a partner or family member
Diagnosed OSA, struggling with CPAP
Mask discomfort, travel inconvenience, or low adherence
Your Treatment Path
How the Appliance Fits Into Your Care
A mandibular advancement device is a considered step beyond CPAP.
Option A
Newly Suspecting Symptoms
We discuss your symptoms and refer you to a sleep physician or ENT specialist for a sleep study. Once a diagnosis is confirmed, we assess your suitability for an oral appliance.
Option B
Already Diagnosed
Bring your sleep study report and AHI result. We review the diagnosis, assess your jaw and bite suitability, and proceed directly to MAD scan.
The Device We Use
Orthoapnea NOA
Most mandibular advancement devices advance the jaw by a fixed amount. The Orthoapnea NOA works differently — developed entirely digitally, it is customised to each patient's individual jaw biomechanics, not just the shape of the teeth. How the jaw moves, how far it can comfortably advance, how it behaves laterally — all of this shapes the device before fabrication begins.
Titration is controlled precisely through exchangeable lower splints, adjusted in millimetre increments at follow-up appointments. The position is dialled in over time rather than guessed at fitting.
Biomechanics-first design — customised to how the jaw actually moves, not just its resting position. Advance sequence, laterality, vertical dimension, and opening limitation are all individually configured.
Controlled titration — exchangeable lower splints allow advancement to be adjusted in precise increments, session by session, until the optimal airway position is found.
Fully digital fabrication — designed from the iTero Lumina Pro digital scan of your teeth and bite. No physical impressions, no approximation.
Class IIa biocompatibility certified — manufactured in Polyamide 12, selected for strength, lightness, flexibility, and resistance to bacterial plaque accumulation.

- Assessment & Discussion We review your sleep study results, AHI, current treatment (if any), and your dental and jaw structure. No diagnosis yet? We discuss your symptoms and refer out first.
- Suitability Review We assess your bite, jaw range of motion, and dentition to confirm a mandibular advancement device is appropriate for your case.
- Digital Scanning & Impressions iTero Lumina Pro intraoral scan. No trays, no discomfort. The scan drives fabrication.
- Custom Fabrication — Orthoapnea NOA Your scan data is sent to Orthoapnea for digital fabrication. Two to three weeks for delivery.
- Fitting & Titration The device is fitted and adjusted progressively over several weeks until the optimal airway position is found.
- Ongoing Review We monitor fit, comfort, and jaw response at scheduled follow-ups, working alongside your sleep physician on overall treatment progress.
"Sleep-disordered breathing is one of the most underdiagnosed conditions I see. Many patients arrive having attributed their fatigue to stress, age, or lifestyle — not realising that the airway is the place to start looking."

Common Questions
Sleep Apnea FAQs
A dentist can provide oral appliance therapy — a mandibular advancement device — as part of treatment for mild to moderate obstructive sleep apnoea, or for patients who cannot tolerate CPAP. Diagnosis requires a sleep study, performed by a sleep physician or ENT specialist. We work alongside these specialists rather than diagnosing independently.
No. Oral appliance therapy for sleep apnea is not Medisave or CHAS claimable. These schemes apply to specific surgical procedures under the MOH Table of Surgical Procedures, not to dental sleep appliances. Some private insurance plans may cover part of the cost — check directly with your insurer.
The first visit — consultation and iTero Lumina Pro digital scan — is S$120 before GST. A custom mandibular advancement device starts from S$3,500 before GST. You will receive a full written breakdown before any treatment is scheduled. Some private insurance plans may cover part of the cost.
Yes. A diagnosis of obstructive sleep apnoea, confirmed through a sleep study, should precede fitting. If you do not yet have a diagnosis, we can refer you to a sleep physician or ENT specialist.
CPAP is generally more effective at reducing the apnoea-hypopnea index, but many patients tolerate an oral appliance better, particularly for mild to moderate cases. The right option depends on your diagnosis and individual circumstances — a conversation best had with your treating physician and your dentist together.
We use the Orthoapnea NOA — a fully digital, custom mandibular advancement device designed around each patient's individual jaw biomechanics. It is a Class IIa certified medical device, not a generic boil-and-bite appliance.
Patients with insufficient teeth for anchorage, active TMJ disorders, or severe sleep apnoea may not be suitable candidates, depending on individual assessment. We will tell you upfront if an oral appliance isn't the right fit for your case.
Yes. If you have a confirmed diagnosis from an ENT specialist or sleep physician — including a sleep study report and AHI result — you can book a consultation with us directly. We work from your existing diagnosis, assess your jaw and bite suitability, and proceed to fitting without requiring you to repeat any diagnostic steps.
